Uncommon Caribbean Officially Launches

Uncommon Caribbean

Today, I’m happy to announce the launch of a new site geared towards highlighting the often overlooked charms of the Caribbean. The Antilles are so much more than just beaches. The local people, food, drinks, music, natural wonders like volcanoes, hot springs, and more all add up to a unique experience that is best enjoyed by directly immersing yourself in the culture. Something you won’t find on any massive cruise ship.

So, for those looking for a deeper look into what the beautiful islands and people of the Caribbean have to offer, head over to the brand new Uncommon Caribbean site, become a fan of the UC Facebook page, look out for our latest videos on YouTube, or follow UncommonCarib on Twitter.

I need to remember to get down to the islands, explore new places and take as many photos as possible!

Inauguration Day

inauguration-day Today is the day we’ve been waiting for a long time.

For some people, it might be around 2 years from the start of Obama’s campaign. For others, perhaps 4 years, from the start of Bush’s last term. I know some people have been waiting for this day during Bush’s whole 8 years of presidency. Then, many others say they’ve been waiting for this moment for the past 36 years since Martin Luther King told the world about his dream. But really, it can easily be said that this moment has been coming for this country’s entire time in existence.

The feeling you get from everyone you run into (in New York at least) is that we have a chance to take this country into a bold new direction by all working together. It’s a pretty awe inspiring notion.

I suppose we need to remember to get over that awe and get out there and make a difference.

Flight 1549

Tail As a person who inherintly doesn’t like to fly. This is a day I should remember.

It’s a day where a plane loses both of its engines shortly after lift-off and a talented captain and his flight crew set it down expertly in the Hudson saving everyone on board. Astounding.

Inevitable Red Ring of Death

Valentine’s Day Desktop Wallapapers at MyBestDesktops.com

Although I don’t personally do a lot of the traditionally accepted activities to celebrate Valentine’s Day, I do like the sentiment of being a little nicer to someone for whatever reason. So, to help get in the spirit, MyBestDesktops.com will be posting what I hope to be a whole slew of lovey-dovey desktops over the next couple weeks.

Today, we kick it off with Valentine’s Red Rose 1. Keep checking MyBestDesktops.com for the latest and greatest in sweet desktop wallpaper goodness.

In the meantime, I’ll try to remember to keep updating the thing…

2006 Triumph Bonneville Black

Kathleen and the new Bonneville I’m finally back on a motorcycle as of Sunday and although the weather is terrible, I’m super excited. The Triumph Bonneville Black is the motorcycle I’ve always dreamed of. (I mean the engine is black for goodness sake!)

I have to remember to get out and ride as much as possible… between painting, taking photos, gaming, traveling, and, of course, working.

A Tornado in Brooklyn

The first tornado in 118 years tore through a bit of Brooklyn yesterday. It passed about 3 avenue blocks away from my house according to this map. After all the storms the past weeks, I didn’t even bother to pull out my camera.

I should remember to not underestimate New York weather.
