Work. Work. Work.
So far, this year has been little but work, work, work… I have got to remind myself to take a break.

I’ve hit Beer Table twice since it opened last week. Once on opening night (Saturday) and then again last night. It’s so refreshing to have a good beer spot without all the potential baggage a place like that could bring with it… especially in Park Slope. Luckily it’s a bit too far south to be right in the center of stroller-land. In the end, the place just comes off as a cozy (and a bit busy) neighborhood place I could swing by now and again. They even remembered my lady from last week…
I should remember to check them out often.

Although I’ve never been that into professional sports, I can’t help but still think about how amazing that Super Bowl win by the Giants was a week ago. Just incredible. The best Super Bowl I’ve certainly ever seen!
Plus taking photos at Tuesday’s ticker-tape parade in lower Manhattan was tons of fun, too.
I should remember to catch a game or two occasionally…

This one seems a little different from the others as it sports strokes with more of a certain drunken insanity, but oh well… I really need to remember to keep trying to paint more often.

Although I don’t personally do a lot of the traditionally accepted activities to celebrate Valentine’s Day, I do like the sentiment of being a little nicer to someone for whatever reason. So, to help get in the spirit, MyBestDesktops.com will be posting what I hope to be a whole slew of lovey-dovey desktops over the next couple weeks.
Today, we kick it off with Valentine’s Red Rose 1. Keep checking MyBestDesktops.com for the latest and greatest in sweet desktop wallpaper goodness.
In the meantime, I’ll try to remember to keep updating the thing…

My woman (and myself to a lesser degree) has been looking for some new plates and stuff, so when I walked by Tart on Melrose and saw these very, very cool plates in the window, I had to take a photo and show them to her. The store was closed at the time, so I couldn’t go in for a closer look, but I figured we could get them online later…
Sure we could… for $80 per plate! Awww damn. A little out of my price range… I mean, even the coffee mug was $70!
I need to remember to get rich so I can have fancy plates one day.

Today feels like the first day I can finally take a moment and ease myself into the new year. The past couple weeks were just so jam packed… even when I was doing nothing. I hope I remember it all:

The driving all over Trinidad to find my long lost granny,

The time spent doing nothing with Flash II on the veranda in Tobago.
The Cris and caviar.

The death of my D80.

The feeling of a brand new D300 in my hands.

The drive up the Pacific Coast Highway.
The editing in NY.
It’s so much. Now, I just hope I remember to kick some ass in 2008.

I keep missing photo exhibitions, so it’s time to start reminding myself again. First up is Chinatowns which opens tonight and goes through December 22nd at the Storefront for Art and Architecture down at 97 Kenmare Street. Basically, it’s photos from chinatowns around the world. Sounds very cool to me…
I should remember to get down there.
(Update: Of course I didn’t make it there… lame.)

If the above clip is any indication, Lagos would be one hell of a trip.
I should remember to visit places like this…

One thing I always love doing is going on “photo safaris” around New York with my woman. They always lead to visiting places I wouldn’t normally go or looking at familiar neighborhoods in new ways.
Jonathan Harris of We Feel Fine fame also seems to enjoy a good photo safari, but his most recent was all the way to Barrow, Alaska (the northernmost settlement in the United States) to take part in a whale hunt, “a thousand-year-old tradition that provides the community’s annual food supply” and the result is the amazing Whale Hunt site that documents the whole trip in 5 minute increments.
I should remember try a bigger photo safari sometime…

Patrick Bennett has a very bad memory. This site serves as a repository for random items he's run across that he should probably remember.
